2 Parts Of The Septic Tank Installation Process

Blog

If you are building a house out in the country, you probably need to have a septic tank installed, because you can't hook into the municipal sewer lines, for whatever reason. You need to finalize the location of your septic tank before you start building your house because you don't want to find out that the best place to put your septic tank is now sitting under your house. You may not have the tank installed until after the house is built, but it's important to make sure that you have a good space for it. There is a process to finalizing where the tank will be.

Site Evaluation

The first thing that needs to happen is that the septic installation company needs to look over your site. You will need to show them your plans as to where your house, driveway, and well are going to be. There are reasons that the septic company needs to know each of these things. One reason is that the septic tank has a leach field that is associated with it, where water that has started the purification process will leave the tank. You don't want that near your well. The reason to keep your driveway or house away from your septic tank is that the septic tank must be accessible, and you don't want to put any weight on it.

Soil Evaluation

Another part of the installation process is to figure out what kind of soil you have. This is because different kinds of soils have different absorption and compaction rates. The leach field is designed to absorb the water that comes out of the tank as the final part of the purification process. But, if the soil around the tank has a high compaction rate and doesn't drain really well, then the area is going to have a hard time handling the water from the septic tank. The installation company will have to test your soil and may have to make some amendments to it so that the leach field will be able to properly absorb all the water from the tank.

A good septic system is an important part of your house. You need to have a way to get the wastewater out of your house, and a septic tank can be that tool. If you need a septic tank, talk to an installation company, such as Metroplex Royal Flush LLC, to see if they can help you.
